Maui offers many options to tourists: Top-ranked golf courses, meandering nature hikes, a dormant volcano, whale watching, prime surfing breaks and excellent snorkeling spots. But this Hawaiian island is also home to several high-end restaurants. It’s easy to find a top Maui restaurant if you know where to look.
The Plantation House restaurant in the busy shopping and entertainment town of Lahaina has long been a favorite of hungry tourists. The restaurant serves a traditional menu heavy on seafood and steaks, but while it offers few surprises, the food is uniformly excellent.
Like many top Maui restaurants, The Plantation House offers diners amazing views of immaculately manicured golf course, the waters of the ocean and the neighboring island of Molokai. It sis a great place to enjoy breathtaking Pacific Ocean sunsets
Gerard’s Restaurant, also in Lahaina, specializes in quality French cuisine. The restaurant offers venison, lamb, beef, pork, seafood and chicken. The food here is expensive, but Gerard’s can’t be beat for couples looking for a romantic dinner for two.
Another excellent choice is the Maalaea Waterfront Restaurant in, as its name suggests, Maalea. This restaurant, like many top Maui restaurants, specializes in fresh seafood. The restaurant’s food is so tasty, it has earned a coveted five-star rating from Honolulu Magazine.
Also don’t forget Mama’s Fishhouse Restaurant on Maui’s North Shore for an amazing dining experience in front of a picturesque beach in a small palm fringed bay.
No matter your taste, you’ll find that there are plenty of highly regarded restaurants in Maui that serve dishes soon to be among your favorites. Look around a bit, and don’t be afraid to stray from the more touristy areas of Maui. You’ll be surprised at the restaurant choices available to you.
