Where To Find The Best Luau on Maui
May 3, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Maui boasts the most luaus of any of the Hawaiian Islands.
This is good news for tourists. But it can also be overwhelming. With so many luaus from which to choose, how do tourists decide which to attend and which to skip?
Fortunately, each luau has its own charm and character. There really is no wrong choice.
Older visitors might pick the Feast at Lele in the busy Maui town of Lahaina.
This luau skips the buffet table, and instead features servers that bring food and drinks directly to visitors.
The food is of a higher quality than at most luaus, too, with a wide range of seafood and traditional island food on the menu. Polynesian entertainment keeps guests happy between courses.
This luau is a bit pricier than others on Maui. But guests looking for a more upscale experience will be happy with this choice.
The Ka’anapali Beach Luau might be the best choice for families. It is the least expensive luau on Maui, and features a wide range of food, even items that the pickiest of young eaters will enjoy.
The entertainment portion of the Ka’anapali Beach Luau features a Polynesian revue that takes in the culture of the islands of Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand, Samoa and Hawaii. The show even features a bit of Elvis – Blue Hawaii, anyone? – and famous Hawaiian crooner Don Ho to end things on a light note.
Of course, these are just two of the many luaus offered on Maui. It’s easy to pick up information on the many differing luaus once you’re on the island.
Don’t be shy. The more luaus you attend, the more bits of Hawaiian culture and entertainment you’ll pick up.
