Downpour drenches upcountry Maui (KHNL News 8 Honolulu)

Residents say upcountry Maui hasn’t seen a downpour like this in decades. They’re under a flash flood watch until late tonight. In Wailea and Kihei it was beach weather but across Haleakala towards upcountry were billowing black clouds. They saw drops of rain so big you’re soaked worse than a shower. The up country’s strong isolated showers make seeing just feet in front of drivers a serious struggle. “I haven’t seen it this bad in 30 years” said a Maui resident
